Warren Loy, Principal at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Primary School Mount Pritchard was one of three recipients of the John Laing Award by NSW Education Minister Rob Stokes at a ceremony held on 26 November.
The John Laing Award recognises principals who influence not only students, but staff in achieving their best and aspiring to leadership.

During the ceremony, the Minister acknowledged that the leadership of a school was critical to ensuring quality educational outcomes.
Mr Loy was nominated for his development of staff leadership capacity and chosen as winners by Principals Australia Institute (PAI) and the Australian Primary Principals Association (APPA).
‘The role of the principal is an honour, a privilege and a wonderful challenge,’ Mr Loy said.
‘As a leader it requires a commitment to lifelong learning and to work collectively for the growth of teachers and students alike.’
